  1. The only photo that is really working and is a strong photo is the last one with the disco ball. The balance between the object and the reflection is great and the reflection is clear and easy to see. Some of the other images, you have to really look for the reflection and in a few I don't really see a reflection(1, 4, and 5). The second strongest image is the 6th one. The image is very interesting and pulls the eye in. The only suggestion I would have for this photo is to some how make the reflection easier to see or more defined, closer up, or something. The concept is really cool and the images you will be able to create are going to very interesting to look at.

  2. The strongest photo is the last one. The third image is also strong. The reflections are clear and easy to spot. The weakest is image 2, but with an easy fix. If the ball had a shinier surface, it would be easier to see the reflection.

  3. The 3rd and 7th photos are compositionally weak, consider a different angle for the window and back away from the candle so that all of the candle holder and the reflection are in the picture. The 7th image could be your strongest photo yet if you retake it.
I think the 4th and 6th images are working very well, they subtly fit your theme and are compositionally pleasing to the eye.

  4. The 7th picture is the best one in this set. I think it's best because of how strong the reflection is in it. The 3rd picture has a good reflection in it but it is not as visually interesting for me. I think the ones of the reflection in the water could be the weakest since we are going for reflections. But if you were going for the reflection of light off the water then it works. I really like the 6th one (reflection or not) it just looks neat!

  5. I think your weakest photo is of the one with your arm in the water. Personally I believe 4,6, and 7 are the best out of the series. I agree about retaking the last photo, the line on the right just bothers me. Keep it up, looking forward to seeing what next round brings to us.

  6. Your pictures are very interesting this week. I see lots of texture that is nice but i know you are trying to focus on reflections. There wasn't a lot of reflection in the pictures coming from outside objects. I think that is what you are trying to do? The reflections were mostly just from the water which is a nice effect but I really think the disco ball is probably the most successful of all of them. Although I really do think the green floaty in the pool is a good composition and I like the color and shadow it creates. I would try some different angles and see if you can get more reflection.

  7. Nice! I really like all these pictures! they make me really want to jump into a pool! I would say that they are all pretty cool but two are slightly weak. the one of the beach ball is loses the reflections idea a bit, I can see the reflection but it is not as apparent as you probably would want for your book. The picture of the arm also doesn't do it for me, It is another one that I understand the reflective qualities but doesn't quite "reflect" (no pun intended) the same type of reflections as your other pictures.

  8. Only two photos stand out as awkward. Photo 2 of the beach ball and the arm under water. More space around the ball would help. And the arm seems disembodied and typical. Are you trying for a constant theme week to week? It appeared so this time. I don't think it is a bad idea and it is certainly simpler to do so.

Anyway, try to brighten up the images and they will look spectacular. Just a little photoshop makes nice images into vibrant and beautiful works.

  9. The images are good and clean. I only one that doest fit is the shed, it lack some contrast and pop as the other images do. However it is a literal reflection. Some minor cropping on 7, 6, and 3 would make the images a lot stonger. Personally I like having to look for a suddle reflection. Also having it on a blue background help with these images.

  10. while all the photos have qualities about them that attract my attention, the only photo that is actually showing a reflexting is the third one with the window. I am seeing a lot of shiny things, and things that are absorbing light, so if you are going to continue doing these, I think you should consider just changin your definition for your photo series.

  11. Images 3 and 7 are the strongest. The others don't seem to fit with the last images you posted on the blog. I was really enjoying the whole images within images.
That's why 3 is the strongest. The second images is on the verge of working but I don't think the surface of the beach ball was reflective enough to show the image on the other side of the camera.

  12. Amanda!

I think this set is looking so much better! The lighting is right on, and you are obviously being more selective. Your peers are tough but only formally, and are teaching you to think through your compositions. The arm is the weakest, but the beach ball with the palm trees is great--just awkwardly cropped, try re cropping it. The disco ball is awesome, and I do not mind the line as much as the thing in the bottom left corner. Photoshop them out and see if it helps... Your images are becoming really nice. Keep it up.

  13. I love the new pictures! The water gives you so many cool patterns and reflections that bend light in so many different ways. For some reason the arm picture didn't seem to fit in for me, but the strongest images I feel are the window and the close ups of the bubble mats. I guess I was used to seeing inanimate objects so the arm through me off.
